The covid19 virus has directly affected some 5 million people worldwide, but the overall impact – the illness, the deaths, the fear, tragedy and loss of life, livelihoods, certainties and freedoms – have impacted the entire planet. We have endured enforced confinement with borders closed, travel curtailed and very restricted movement. Our routines have been decimated, our towns and cities emptied of life, and many people have lived and worked in isolation. We have learned to meet online instead of in person, and to stay away from loved ones in order to keep each other safe and well. Deprived of social contact, we have been made acutely aware of the interconnectedness of every person on the planet. Key workers and armies of volunteers and charity workers have rallied together in a wonderful display of solidarity to help the elderly, the vulnerable, the homeless, and to feed those lacking funds. We have been humbled by the realization that the virus is a great leveler, striking anyone in its path, regardless of race, colour, age or creed. With humanity in lockdown, Mother Nature had a chance to recover from the relentless pollution of air, sea and land, God’s creatures have roamed free and a wave of human kindness and awareness has spread across the globe. Hopefully, we have learned to do less, to just “be”, to appreciate everything more, and anticipate a new, more heartfelt “normal”.
Yoga Thinking
The largely conscious, international yoga community has hopefully fared well during lockdown, with a head start on vital issues such as self-discipline, stress control, mindfulness and meditation, all contributing to our mental, physical and spiritual wellbeing. You can read our blog on this topic published at the start of the lockdown.
We are honored to have been able to help you continue your yoga practice with our online classes; a special thank you for joining and supporting them, and also to our teachers. It was wonderful to stay connected online and to see everyone – teachers and students, practicing in their own indoor and outdoor yoga spaces!
Coming Back to Life
As Spain is now in Phase 1 of the De-escalation of the lockdown, we are able to open the doors of our studio and starting with just a few, very small classes, welcome back members of our beloved yoga community. And for those who cannot come back yet, we are continuing to live stream classes online for you to continue practicing at home.
This week, we are open for private yoga classes and massage therapies. We also have a few select classes taking place this week in the studio starting on Thursday 21st May.
Please email us to book a class, or do so directly online on our website: see details below.
Hygiene Comes First
You can be reassured that we are doing everything possible to protect our studio, students and teachers from the Covid-19 virus. We have totally cleaned and disinfected the studio, and will be strictly adhering to the local and government guidelines on the daily cleaning and hygiene of the studio, how many people can attend class, use of face masks and hand-sanitizer, etcetera. Following are the rules:

Back in the Studio
As we gradually bring classes back into the studio and phase out the virtual classes, we ask you to kindly consult with our online schedule to see which classes are available. Please be sure to pre-book your classes online, and until further notice do not just show up at the studio, as we will need to restrict numbers of students in class. Thank you for your understanding and continued support.
Best wishes,
Lori Sjollema and team
